Running has huge benefits for your mental and physical wellbeing. And can be an absolute chore! Getting moving to support a good cause can help (cough, cough), but here at CALM we figure it’s actually your mates who are most likely to give you a boost to get out the door.

Running with mates also means you’re much more likely to hit your goals. And you’re 100% more likely to have some great chat along the way. That post-run endorphin buzz is even sweeter when it’s shared.

CALM exists to prevent male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK. A huge part of this problem is how society sees men and women when they open up about how they’re doing. As a result, recent research shows 84% of men in the UK bottle up their emotions. But we don’t believe men would rather kill themselves than have a chat. We need more environments where it doesn’t feel weird or awkward to open up to someone, and we’ve found that being active and having something to do together is key.
